Global commodity markets are being reshaped by war in the Gulf, the resulting economic shocks, and wider geopolitical tensions. Asia’s energy supplies and trading routes have been constrained at a time when the regional economy was already under pressure from inflation and slowing growth, China's multi-year property slump, and a need to fund development projects.

With energy security rising up national agendas, the search for more reliable supply has become a priority. At the same time, competition for critical minerals has been intensifying, creating both risk and opportunities. And more frequent instances of extreme weather have added to food security concerns in several Asian countries.

Against this backdrop, the Financial Times will bring its seventh annual Commodities Asia Summit back to the trading hub of Singapore, in December. Here, 350+ senior executives, investors, and policymakers will meet to discuss strengthening supply chains, managing new risks and shaping Asia’s role in a more fragmented global economy.

The content covered in the various speaker and panel sessions was very good. I think  much more so than any other similar events I've attended. High quality speakers with direct knowledge and most significant involvement in the actual commodities business.
